Coursearly
Coursearly is an edtech platform connecting creators, learners, and affiliates. The platform enables creators to sell courses, learners to access digital skills, and affiliates to earn commissions by promoting courses.
Problem
Competitive analysis of existing Nigerian edtech platforms revealed systemic issues affecting trust and accessibility. These included unfavourable revenue splits for creators, delayed payment processing, limited course management tools, restricted course creation for independent experts, high course fees, inconsistent course quality, and limited promotional opportunities for affiliates on free plans. These gaps reduced creator participation and eroded learner trust.
Product Strategy and Decisions
● Quality control: I introduced a manual course review process using defined approval criteria to ensure baseline quality at launch. As volume increased, this evolved into an AI-assisted screening system where flagged content was routed for manual review. This reduced review time while preserving quality standards. ● Payments: I mapped the end-to-end payment flow with the engineering team and worked directly with Paystack support to clarify compliance requirements. We tested multiple payment scenarios, including card payments, bank transfers, and edge cases, to minimise post-launch failures. ● Pricing and access: I designed a pricing and commission structure that prioritised local affordability for learners while allowing independent experts to monetise their content sustainably. This avoided the high entry barriers seen on competing platforms.
Key Responsibilities
